Peanut Onion Chutney is a perfect choice of idli, dosa, Pongal, upma and kichadi. In this dish, peanut is roast with other ingredients in oil. Then seasoned with amazing ingredients. Peanut is a protein rich food. In this chutney peanuts have enhanced the taste and flavor of chutney. Definitely you would feel the goodness when you taste for yourself!!!
Ingredients
Peanut - a handful
Roughly Chopped Red Onion - 1 ( big)
Dry Red Chilli - 4
Gooseberry Sized - Tamarind
Salt to taste
Hing - 1 pinch
Jaggery- 1 tsp
Sesame Oil - 2 tsp
For Seasoning
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp
Urad Dhal - 1 tsp
Broken Dry Red Chilli - 1
Curry Leaves - few
Method
Heat oil in a pan, add dry red chilli, tamarind, hing a mind chopped onions. Let it sauté well in the oil. Once it done add a handful peanuts and Jaggery. Sauté it well.
Let’s cool down completely completely and grind it as paste along with required water for 1 and 1/2 minutes to 2 minutes.
Heat oil in the same pan, add the tempering ingredients and fry for few seconds.
Then mix well the seasoning ingredients with chutney and serve hot with idli or dosa.
