Instant Rice Flour Adai

Adai dosa is a savory, south Indian pancake-like dish. Protein-packed and healthy, you can eat it at any time of day. It often works best as breakfast or a mid-afternoon snack. 


This is an instant rice flour adai. In this dish, rice flour, besan, coconut and ingredients mixed and spiced with some sautéed ingredients. You can use ghee /sesame oil /coconut oil for making this adai to make tasty in richness. It goes very well with avail, coconut chutney, onion tomato chutney or sambar.

Ingredients

Rice Flour - 1 and 1/2 Cups

Besan Flour - 1/2 Cup

Yougurt / Curd - 4 tbsp

Grated Coconut - a handful

Salt to taste

Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp

Chilli Powder - 1/4 tsp

Water as required (to make dough like chapatti )

For Seasoning

Sesame Oil - 3 tsp

Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tsp

Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp

Urad Dhal - 1 tsp

Hing - a pinch

Finely Chopped Coriander Leaves - a handful

Finely Chopped Mint Leaves- few

Finely Chopped Curry Leaves - few

For Grease

Oil / ghee as required

Method

In a cleaned bowl, add rice flour, besan, coconut, salt, turmeric powder, chilli powder and yogurt.

Heat oil in a pan, add the seasoning ingredients one by one and sauté it for few seconds.

Then transfer this into rice flour bowl. Make this dough like as chapatti dough.

Grease some oil in your hand. Now make small balls and place it in a greased plastic cover/ aluminum foil sheet. Then press it as round shaped adai.


Heat a pan/ dosa pan. Apply some ghee /oil, then place this adai in pan. Close the lid and cook on both sides or until gets slight brown in color.

Repeat the same process for making all adai. Then serve with chutney or avial.
