Raw Banana Poriyal

It’s simple and delicious poriyal. Cooked raw bananas is tossed with some Indian spices. It goes very well with curd rice, kuzhambu rice, variety rice and Chapatti.

Ingredients

Chopped Raw Banana - 1 ( small pieces)
Chopped Onion -1
Turmeric Powder -1/2 tbsp
Salt to taste

To Grind ( Coarse Powder)
Grated Coconut - 1/4 Cup
Cumin Seeds - 1/2 tbspt
Green Chilli - 1 or 2
Ginger - a small piece
Peeled Garlic- 2
Curry Leaves - few

To Temper
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Urad Dhal- 1/2 tbsp
Chan a Dhal - 1/2 tbsp
Peanuts - 2 tbsp
Hing - a pinch

Method

In a blender add the ingredients which are under to grind ( make sure it should be coarse powder)
Bring water to boil, add chopped raw banana pieces along with turmericx powder and salt. Let it cooks for 90%. Once it done, Strain the excess the water and keep aside.


Heat oil in a pan, add the tempering ingredients one by one and fry for few seconds. Add onions along with little salt and fry till get slight brown in color.

Now transfer the cooked raw bananas and mix well.



Finally add the ground coconut masala, close the lid and keep cook on low flame for 5 minuets.


 Then switch off the flame. Serve with any rice.
