This is simple bottle gourd kuzhambu made without using any dhal. Bottle Gourd is helpful to reduce for your weight loss. So try to take this veggie at least once in a week. This goes very well with white rice, Chapatti and dosa/idli.
Ingredients
Chopped Bottle Gourd - 1 Cup
Chopped Onions- 2
Peeled Garlic- 5 pods
Chopped Tomatoes- 4 or 5
Salt to taste
Turmeric Powder- 1/2 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste -1 tsp
Sambar Powder- 3 tsp
Chopped Coriander Leaves- few
To Temper
Mustard Seeds-1/2 tsp
Urad Dhal - 1 tsp
Bengal Gram -1 tsp
Oil-1 tsp
Method
Heat oil in a pan, add the tempering ingredients one by one and sauté it for few seconds.
Then add chopped onions, and fry till gets slight brown in color. Then add ginger garlic paste and sauté it for a minute.
Then add the chopped tomatoes and cook until it becomes mushy. Now add garlic, chopped bottle gourd pieces along with salt and mix well.
Add turmeric powder, Sambar powder and mix well. Then add enough water and cook until the vegetables cook completely. Then switch off the flame and and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
