Chana
Dal Sundal(Kadalai Paruppu Sundal) is one easy and quick sundal recipe to make
for any pooja/Neiveithyam. Sundal is very famous snack in South India.
It is
very nutritious, easy to prepare and also very filling. It can be had as an
evening snack with tea.
Ingredients
Bengal gram/Kadalai paruppu - 1/2 cup
Lemon juice – 1 tsp

Urad dal - 1/2 tsp
Green chilli - 1 small finely chopped

(To Coarse Paste)

coconut - 3 tbsp

Seeds – ½ tsp

Small Onion – 3 (Peeled)
Method
Soak
bengal gram dal for 1 hour. Take a pressure cooker, cook dal with salt and water
for 2 whistles. The dal should be soft but not mushy.
You can
even cook in a pan or vessel. Drain it and keep it aside.
Heat a
tsp of oil, add mustard seeds, when it splutters, add hing, urad dal, green
chilli, red chilli and curry leaves coriander leaves.
Add
chopped onions and ginger then sauté till it becomes mushy
Then add the cooked kadalai paruppu/dal and mix it well.
In blender add the ingredients which are under to coarse paste. Then add this into sundal, mix and switch off the flame.
Squeeze 1 tsp of lemon juice into this sundal for a different taste.
