Aloo Dum Dry

It is one of the most popular dishes in the Indian cuisine. It is a quick and tasty recipe. Lots of dishes are prepared using aloo.

There are many ways to prepare this aloo curry. I just prepared this recipe by using less spices. You can try this same dish in a semi gravy version by adding little water. This goes well with any rice and roti…

Ingredients
Potato – 5
Peeled Onions – 2 (Big)
Tomato – 2 (big)
Garlic – 6 pods
Green Chilli – 4
Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder -1/2 tsp
Garam Masala – 1 tsp
Bay leaf – 1
Oil
Salt to taste
Method
Peel and wash the onions and cut into 4 halves. Take the tomatoes and cut into 4 halves.

Wash the potatoes and cut into 4 halves and then pressure cook for 3 whistles.

In a mixer grinder, add onions, garlic, green chillies, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, chilli powder, and coriander powder. Then grind it well by using little water. Then keep it in a bowl.

Then grind the tomatoes and keep it aside. When the pressure releases from the pressure cooker, peel the boiled potatoes.

Heat oil in a pan, add bay leaf and cumin seeds. Then add the paste and saute on the low flame for about 5 minutes.

Now add the tomato paste, salt and garam masala. Cook another 5 min on the low flame.

Finally chop the potato into small pieces, and add into the pan. Then keep fry for another 3 min.

Now switch off the flame, and transfer into serving bowl. Garnish with curry leaves.
