KONGU NATTU ARACHUVITTA KOLLU KUZHAMBU | கொங்கு நாட்டு அரைச்சுவிட்ட கொள்ளு குழம்பு
This is another interesting recipe. In this dish, dry roast horse gram and other ingredients and grind it as paste and then cooked with other ingredients.
I have learned it recently and tried it. This came out really well. This is one of the Cook with Comali show recipe. Hope you’ll definitely like it and enjoy your cooking
For Dry Roast & Grind | வறுத்து அரைக்க
Horse Gram | கொள்ளு பருப்பு - 1/3 Cup
Coriander Seeds | மல்லி - 1 tbsp
Dry Red Chilli | வர மிளகாய் - 7
Grated Coconut | தேங்காய் துருவல் - 1/4 Cup
Salt | உப்பு - little
Ingredients for Kuzhambu |
குழம்புக்கு தேவையான பொருட்கள்
Sesame Oil | நல்லெண்ணெய் - 2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds | கடுகு - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves | கறிவேப்பிலை - few
Shallot | நறுக்கிய வெங்காயம் - 1 cup
Tamarind Water | புளித்தண்ணீர் - 1/2 cup
Rice Rinsing Water | அரிசி கழுவிய நீர் - 1 cup
Jaggery | வெல்லம் - 1 tsp
Salt | உப் பு - to taste
Cilantro | கொத்தமல்லி இலை - few
Method
Heat a pan, add horse gram and dry roast until raw smell goes well. Then keep it aside.
In the same pan, add coriander seeds, dry red chilli and grated coconut and dry roast well.
Once it cools down completely, then grind it as fine paste along with wate and keep aside.
Heat sesame oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, curry leaves and fry for few seconds.
Add chopped onions along with little salt and fry for few minutes.
Then add the ground masala and sauté it for 2 minutes.
Add tamarind water, rice rinsing water and boil it for 10 minutes.
Then add jaggery and mix well. Let it cook for another 2 minutes.
Once we get kuzhambu consistency, add chopped coriander leaves and switch off the flame.
Yummy and tasty arachuvitta kollu kuzhambu is ready to serve with hot steamed white rice.
