Ingredients
Perch Fish | பனையேறி கெண்டை மீன் (Washed and cleaned) - 4
Rice Flour | அரிசி மாவு - 2 tbsp
Coconut Oil | தேங்காய் எண்ணெய் - fry
Fresh Ground Pepper | மிளகுத்தூள்
To grind & paste
Dry Red Chilli | காய்ந்த மிளகாய் - 4
Peppercorn | மிளகு - 1 tbsp
Peeled Garlic | பூண்டு பற்கள் - 10 pods
Curry Leaves | கறிவேப்பிலை - few
Chopped Onion | - little
Tamarind Water |புளிக்கரைசல் -1 tbsp
Coriander Powder | மல்லித்தூள் - 2 tbsp
Turmeric Powder | மஞ்சள்தூள் - 1/2 tsp
Salt | உப்பு - to taste
Oil | எண்ணெய் - little
Method
Clean and wash the fish. Make slits on both sides and keep aside.
In a blender add the ingredients which are under for “to grind & paste “ and grind it as paste along with required water.
Take the fishes one by one and apply the ground masala, making sure to put into slits and cavities. Add required ground pepper, chopped curry leaves and coriander leaves.
Then wrap with plastic cover. And refrigerate this overnight or at least 2 to 3 hours.
Once it’s marinated well, spread rice flour on both sides.
Heat coconut oil in a pan. Make sure it is medium hot. Now carefully place the fish in hot oil and let it fry well on both sides.
Once it is done, serve hot with with sliced tomatoes and chopped coriander leaves.
