Soya Rasam

Soya Rasam is a delicious and nutritious rasam. It brings a lovely and healthy twist. The soya granules are cooked with all spices and mixed with all dals. Then this simmered in tamarind water along with rasam powder.
 Enjoy this healthy rasam with steamed rice , papad, any fry, pickle, poriyal…
Ingredients
Toor Dal – ½ cup
Channa Dal – 2 tsp
Chopped Carrots – 1 (big)
Chopped Tomatoes – 2 (big)
Turmeric Powder – ½ tsp
Soya Granules – ½ cup
Rasam Powder – 2 tsp
Sliced Green Chilli – 2
Jaggery – 1 tsp
Tamarind Pulp – 1 tsp
Water – 5 cups
Chopped Onions – 3 tsp
To Temper
Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
Hing – ¼ tsp
Dry Red Chilli – 2
Chopped Curry Leaves – few
Chopped Coriander Leaves – few
Oil – 1 tsp
Method
Soak the soya granules in warm water for at least ½ an hour.
In Pressure cooker add toor dal, channa dal, chopped tomatoes, carrots, turmeric powder, salt, sliced green chilli with 2 cups of water and let it cook for 5 to 7 whistles comes out. The dal should be mushy.
In a pan, heat oil. And add all the tempering items one by one and let it be for few seconds then add onions and fry for a minute. 
Then add the boiled dal, vegetables, rasam powder, red chilli powder, tamarind pulp, and jaggery and 5 cups of water. Bring to a boil.
Add soya granules and simmer on low heat for 10 minutes. Switch off the flame and serve hot.
