Chicken Gravy (Andhra Style)

It is a spicy and delicious dish. This is prepared with a mix of Indian spices. The coconut adds a unique flavor to the dish and makes it totally irresistible.
This gravy is so flavorful, spicy and delicious. And it goes well with steamed rice/ chapatti/ roti/idiyappam/dosa/idli…

Here is the recipe...

Ingredients
Chicken – ½ kg
Finely Chopped Onions – 3
Finely Chopped Tomatoes – 2
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
Curd/Yogurt – 2 tsp
Chopped Green Chillies – 4
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Oil – 2 tsp
Chopped Coriander Leaves - few
Salt to taste
(For roast & grind)
Garlic – 3 pods
Coriander Seeds – 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds – ½ tsp
Grated Coconut – 3 tsp
Oil – 1 tsp
Method
In a pan, heat oil and roast the ingredients which are under” for roast and grind” and grind it as coarse paste with little water.
Wash and clean the chicken pieces and cut into medium sized pieces. Then keep it aside.
Heat oil in a pan; add green chilli, onions and fry till it turn golden brown on medium flame.
Add the chicken pieces with little salt and fry for about 10 minutes on medium flame.
Then add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, and fry for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add chopped tomatoes, and fry for few minutes. Then add ground masala powder, garam masala powder, salt, curd and mix well.
Then keep cook for about 5 to 7 minutes on medium flame.
Add the required water and mix well. Cover the cook and keep cook for 20 minutes.
Once done, remove the lid and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
Delicious Andhra Chicken Gravy is ready to serve!
