Mongolian Chicken Stir Fry

It’s an Asian dish which is sour, sweet and spicy at the same time. It’s a lip-smacking dish. The chicken is first deep fried and stir fried in the sauce. I have added a pinch of sugar. If you wish you can add more. It has unique taste. Hopefully kids love this dish very much.

Ingredients

Boneless Chicken – ½ kg
Chopped Garlic – 1 tsp
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Sliced Onion – 1 cup (big)
Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
Chopped Spring onions – 3 tsp
Soya Sauce – 2 tsp
Chilli Sauce – 1 tsp
Chilli Flakes – 2 tsp
Sugar – a pinch
Oil for deep frying
Cornstarch – ½ cup
Oyster Sauce – 1 tsp
Barbecue Sauce (Hoisin Sauce) – 1 tsp
Tomato Sauce – 1 tsp

Method

Wash and clean the chicken pieces properly and keep aside.

In a big bowl, add cornstarch, salt, chilli powder and mix with chicken pieces completely.

In a pan, heat oil and fry chicken pieces on low flame till they become golden brown.

Once it done, then take it out and keep aside. Don’t over fry the chicken.

In a separate bowl, add tomato sauce, soya sauce, chilli sauce, oyster sauce, barbecue sauce, chilli flakes and sugar.

Then mix everything well and keep aside. In pan heat oil, add onions and fry on a low flame till it becomes transparent.

Add chopped garlic and spring onions then fry for 3 minutes. Now add black pepper powder and salt.

Now pour the sauce mixture and cook for about 5 minutes. When the sauce starts to thicken, add the fried chicken and mix well.

Then switch off the flame. Now garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
