Butter Fish Fry

It’s a simple yet mouth watering fish fry. It is very popular dish in West Bengal. It requires minimal ingredients and lee time needed to prepare this dish. If you want crispier, add another ½ cup of corn flour.

You can have this as a starter without any main dish. This goes well with any steamed / variety rice/ biryani…

Ingredients

Fish Fillet – 10
Butter – 1 cup
Lemon Juice – 1 tsp
Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 2 tsp
Cashew Nuts Paste – 5 tsp
Almonds Paste – 5 tsp
Corn Flour – 1/2 cup
Eggs – 2
Sliced Onions – 2
Sliced Tomatoes – 2
Milk – ½ cup
Pepper Powder – ½ tsp
Tomato Sauce – ¼ cup
Milk – ¼ cup
Salt to taste

Method

In a big bowl, add ginger garlic paste, lemon juice, chilli powder, cashew paste, almond paste, and salt then mix it well.

Now add the fish fillets and marinate it well and keep aside for at least an hour.

In another bowl, add the corn flour, egg, milk, black pepper, and salt in it. Stir the mixture well and make a fine batter.

In a pan melt butter, and then take the fish fillets one by one and dip them in batter.

Now fry all the fish fillets on a low flame till they turn brown in color.

Remove the excess oil and keep them over a paper towel.


Garnish with shredded butter and serve with hot steamed rice!
