Kongunadu Pallipalaiyam Chicken Fry is very simple to prepare with minimal ingredients. It tastes great.
Ingredients
For Chicken Marination
Boneless Chicken - 300 g
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Yogurt | Curd - 1 tbsp
For Ground Masala
Green Chilly - 1
Chopped Ginger - 2 pieces
Unpeeled Garlic - 5 pods
To Temper
Oil - 1/4 Cup
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp
Curry Leaves - few
Dry Red Chilly (Seedless & Broken) - 5
Chopped Coriander Leaves - few
To Roast Coconut
Grated Coconut - 1/2 Cup
Oil - 1 tbsp
For Chicken Fry
Shallots | Small Onion - 1/2 Cup
Marinated Chicken
Method
In a clean bowl add boneless chicken along with required salt, turmeric powder and yogurt.
Then mix well and refrigerate this marination for about 20 to 30 minutes.
In a blender, add green chilly, unpeeled garlic and ginger pieces. Grind it as a coarse paste.
Heat oil in a pan. Add the grated coconut and fry for a minute. Once it done, take it out and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and fennel seeds and fry for 30 seconds.
Once it done, add the marinated chicken pieces and fry for about 2 minutes or until it slightly color changes.
Cover lid and close chicken for about 5 minutes.
Chicken cooked well and becomes soft and juicy.
Then add the roasted coconut and mix well.
Toss the chicken and switch off the flame.
Transfer the chicken pieces into serving bowl.
Add the tempering ingredients and roasted coconut then mix well.
Serve this yummy, juicy and tasty Pallipalaiyam chicken fry.
