It’s a creamy rich Poha Kheer. This is one of the traditional sweet of southern parts of India. I have added homemade fresh creamy paste which is the combination of cashew nuts and coconut. This gives excellent taste to the dish. It tastes great and I am sure you will definitely love it. Enjoy your cooking!
Ingredients
Poha | Flattened Rice | Aval - 1/2 Cup
Ghee - 2 tbsp
Cashew Nuts - 2 tbsp
Dry Grapes - 2 tbsp
Salt - a pinch
Milk - 2 Cups
Brown Sugar - 1/2 Cup
For Cashew Coconut Paste
Grated Coconut - 3 Tbsp
Rice Flour - 3 Tbsp
Cardamom - 5
Broken Cashew - 20
Milk - 1 Cup
Method
In a mixie jar, add the ingredients which are under for Cashew Coconut paste, and grind it as paste. Then keep it aside.
Heat a pan, melt ghee. Add cashew nuts, dry grapes and fry until gets slight golden brown in color. Then take it out and keep aside in a separate bowl.
In the same pan, add Poha/Aval. And roast until gets slight brown in color.
Add milk and stir well then cook for 10 minutes or until it becomes soft or cooked well.
Add a pinch of salt & brown sugar and then mix well. Let it cook for another 2 minutes.
Add the ground cashew coconut paste and stir well.
Now add the roasted cashew nuts and dry grapes and mix well. Then switch off the flame and serve hot or cold.
